The Old Rocking Chair

She’s a squeaky old rocking chair that wobbles a lot. But I like to sit in her on warm summer mornings before the madness, that is my job, begins. I stroll out with a cup of coffee, a newspaper, and take in the fresh air and singing birds to give my mind a glorious start to the day.

On this particular summer morning I strolled out, with my coffee and paper, and eased into the old girl, which, without warning, split into a billion pieces. I crashed to the floor. The coffee, instead of going into my mouth, ended up all over my shirt and jeans.

I rolled over, dried myself off with the newspaper, and stood up. “That’s it!!” I yelled as I kicked the billion old rocking chair parts off the deck into the yard. “I need a new chair” I thought in disgust.

That evening, after work, I searched around on-line for a new chair without much luck. Nothing I came across seemed to have that “WOW” factor.

Then I came across this elegant little bistro set.
“WOW” I said to myself. “That’s it”

I ordered it, and when it arrived I immediately set it up. No assembly required, just pulled it out of the box, unfolded it, and sat down with a tall glass of ice tea. This time it went into my mouth.

“SWEET” I whispered to myself.
It was like being born again.

“Im gonna miss that old squeaky chair” I thought as I watched it burn in the fire pit, while sitting at my new Strathwood 3-Piece Bistro Set
